Trip down NES memory lane....

I came across this quiz and thought that I'd share with you (if there are any you's left. The quiz gives you a screen shot and the original box art and you have to come up with the title of the NES game. Good Luck!

As you can see I'm a Nintendo Geek. How'd you do?

Long time no see

Wow, I guess I have neglected my blog for awhile. Let's see if I can try to pick up where I left off.

The WSOP Poker Tour is nearing its end and my chances of finishing in the top 3 are slim. Due to a number of people dropping out, we are down to 18 people. We voted on a change in payouts from winner take all to the top 3 getting $1,500 + $750 in travel expenses. This made it possible to keep the monthly payouts somewhat respectable.

Two months ago I booked my first cash/win! I had good cards for most of the night and my hands held up for the most part. For a list of the current standings check out the website at Mill Street Crew.

I'm still fairly active over at www.fullcontactpoker.com (Daniel Negreanu's website). Recently, some of the posters got together to set up a Head's Up league/tournament. The first drew 32 people and it was set up like the bracket for the NCAA March Madness tournament. Each round was played as a best of 3. I was matched up with IWu4u (OldNvySailor on poker stars). I won the first match when OldNvySailor pushed as a short stack preflop with J9 and I made the call with AJ.

The second match went to OldNvySailor. The final hand....

Me[6h 7s]

I raise 60 to 90
oldnvysailor: calls 60

*** FLOP *** [5d 4s 6c]
oldnvysailor: checks
I bet 120
oldnvysailor: calls 120

*** TURN *** [5d 4s 6c] [9c]
oldnvysailor: checks
I bet 275
oldnvysailor: calls 275

*** RIVER *** [5d 4s 6c 9c] [3c]
oldnvysailor: bets 1195 and is all-in
I call 835 and am all-in

*** SHOW DOWN ***
oldnvysailor: shows [5c Ac] (a flush, Ace high)
I show [6h 7s] (a straight, Three to Seven)

If he checks the river, I bet and call if he raises....meh!

The third match was a marathon of sorts lasting 111 hands. The whole tournament was decided by these three hands...

Me K6
Villain AK
Villain 3x PFR, I call
Flop JJ6
I bet, he pushes I call and dodge bullets baby.
This hand gives me a 2.5:1 chip lead

Next hand I have A5 clubs and raise preflop, he goes all-in and I call (having him covered)

He has 33
Flop comes Axx
Turn 3
River x

Final hand I get JJ and limp
Flop comes Q66
He bets I push he calls and flips over K6 and I don't improve.

As for my online play, I've played some and still had some success....although I probably took the most expensive bad beat of my online career last night.

I was dealt AA under the gun at a $0.50-$1.00 NL full ring game at Tilt.

I Raised to $3.50, 3 callers and the BB goes all in for $45ish.

I re-raise all-in to isolate (probably didn't need to, but what the hell).

BB shows AK clubs.....Flop Q,10,X Turn J (Fuck!), River X I'm just glad he didn't have a deeper stack.
