Exodus 3000

Exodus3000 is a cash-payout game, meaning that after earning a predetermined amount of in-game money, a player has the option to cash-out.

The game itself is set roughly 1000 years into the future after the Earth has been rendered uninhabitable due to a global catastrophe. The survivors of the human race have fled to Mars where each player has an individual homestead. From their homestead they must venture out and explore the surface looking for volcanoes which can be mined for Mars Dollars, ruins which often hold hidden caches of valuables, outposts that allow players to purchase upgrades for their in game stats, and settlements which provide mining and searching bonuses for both their governors and joined members. The Dig feature to the game has been made available which gives you a shot at some extra MD or prizes. Abandoned Homesteads now fill the game map where inactive players once had a homestead. Different Cards are now available for a player to collect.

It takes roughly 20minutes to go through the allotted 250 daily moves, and I find it to be a good work break.

If not for 2 hands....

Played for 45 minutes this afternoon. I ended up down about $5 all because of 2 hands which cost me $18. The first hand I was in MP with 66. An EP raiser made it $0.40 and I called (hoping for a low flop or a set) and the SB calls. Flop was 10 6 2 all diamonds. EP leads out for $1.40 and I raise to $3.50, SB folds and EP calls. Turn is 2c. EP checks and I bet $6.50 putting him all-in. EP calls and shows AA(no diamond). River A. Two outers are tough. (Total pot $20.60)

The second hand I was dealt AA.....

I think I played too fast on this hand. His push should have set off alarms, but I was blinded by pocket Aces.

Even though I finished down on the session, I felt like I played well and to only lose $5 after these two hands is a small victory.

Short Sessions....

I multi-tabled 10NL for about 30 minutes today, logging 150 hands or so. Had AA twice and got paid both times. First time I raised for EP and was called by the SB. Flop was 98X, SB check I bet, he raised and I pushed. SB shows 78. Turn 9, River 2 and I stack him, too bad he only had about $3.50 to start the hand.

Second time I make a standard pot sized raise from MP and get called by the buttom. Flop is A8X. I check, he bets, I raise, he re-raises and I push. He tuns over 88 for a smaller set. I had him covered and he started with $9.50ish.

So, it was a quickie that saw me up $15. I like the way my graph is looking in my Poker Log.

Tonight I played a bizzare heads up tournament. It was a $6 + .25 turbo on tilt. It lasted all of 4 hands, of which I won them all. I thought I'd post them for my own amusement...

The roller coaster continues

To start off my session, at one of the tables I got AA, made a standard raise and proceeded to win the blinds. Just a few hands later, I get KK, get all the money on a 7 high flop and lose to AA.

I started out getting no cards and was down on all 5 tables and was fearing another bad session similar to the last. I was able to hang tough until the card came my way and ended up $15 on the session (Poker Log) for about an hour of play.

A couple of things stuck out to me, the first being the number of mid pairs I had today. In about 280 hands I had pocket 5's twice, 6's four times and 7's two times. I also got paid off on good hands and ended up stacking 4 people. The action was similar in each hand where I would bet, get raised and then I'd push and get called. One hand I floped a set of tens against top pair and a flush draw and dodged bullets on the turn and river. The other I had QJ and made a Q high straigh on the river. Again I led out was raised. I pushed and he called with AJ.

While I had a good session, my bankroll is about what it was at the last entry. I dumped some cash over the weekend playing poorly, but won some of it back when I took down a $5+.25, four person heads-up tournament. The guy who I played against at the second table (toplayr) made me laugh telling me how much of a donk I was and that I kept getting lucky.

On a seperate note, the lucky sevens weekend is a go. Me and seven buddies are getting together for a weekend of gambling and competition. We have eight events with money on each with points awarded based on your finish. The events have been finialize and include:

1. Poker Tournament
2. Heads-up Poker Tournament
3. Darts
4. Pool
5. Bowling
6. Putt Putt
7. Home Run Derby (whiffle ball style)
8. Beer Pong

I like my chances in every event.

A bit of tiltage....

I had my worst session (-$18.95) since I started my quest to grind the 10NL (lol at low stakes) tables at Full Tilt.

Pretty early on I was up $5-$6 until I lost $10± on one table when I got my money in with KK vs AA vs AK. I almost laid it down. The guy with AA made about a 5x BB raise from early position. There was 2 callers and I re-raised to $2.50. Original raiser then went all-in and was called by MR. AK. I call and lose.

From that point I felt I was playing sloppy. I couldn't get any callers on my PFR when I wanted callers and would get callers when I didn't. I proceeded to spew chips. I raised the pot PF with AQ. Flop came QJ10. I bet out and get called. Turn was a 9, the worst possible card and turn goes check, check. River is a 4 and villain puts me all-in. I know I'm behind, but call off my last $3.50 and he turns over KJ.

Well it was frustrating, and I have to quit paying off hands when I know I'm beat.

Bankroll - $566.23 (I still have my $26 token as well)

Quick but profitable

I played a quick session today (Poker Log) which only lasted about 25 minutes. I ended up winning just over a buy-in ($10.20). Sad part is, that I won most on one hand where I got my money in way behind.

It my 5th hand at the table....

The grind continues

Played about an hour yesterday, and won a whopping $6.60 (Poker Log. I played ok, but managed to make a couple of horrible calls that cost me, one of which I knew was bad before I called. It was a blind v. blind, and I was the BB with A9. Flop came 983, SB checked raised All-In. I called and he turned over 89. I rebought and managed to win back most of my first buy-in before giving back most of it again on some stupid play (read bluff).

I think I'm playing better the more I play, although its slow going.

A bunch of friends of mine are getting together for a competition weekend of gambling and drinking. Were going to play 8 different events ranging from Poker to Darts to Bowling. Each event has its own buy-in and points are awarded based on your finish. The overall point leader wins a prize pool and of course bragging rights. I have 6 of the 8 events planned (Poker Tournament, Poker Heads-up tournament, putt putt, bowling, darts and pool) and am working on 2 others. I want them to be individual events as opposed to teams (for points purposes). If you have any suggestions let me know (like anyone reads this).

If your interested in how it's set up, check it out at...Lucky Sevens Weekend

Trying to grind...

A bunch of people at the forums have been setting goals like taking $100 and trying to run it up to $10,000 over a specific time frame, or something similar. While I don't have the time to dedicate to a similar challenge, I've made an effort to play more.

Recently I decided on multi-tabling as opposed to playing just 1 table. I used to play one table from anywhere between $25NL to $100NL, but playing 1 table got boring as I play a TAG style. I dont have the bankroll to multi-table at these stakes (although I could probably do it at $25), so I've started playing 5 $10NL tables.

I find it more enjoyable as I don't have to wait as long for good starting hands. This makes it less likely that I'll get bored and start trying to get overly "creative". As I said before, I don't have a ton of free time as two kids under 5 take up so much time (think full time job). So I usually play sessions of at least 30 minutes and so far my longest has been an hour.

I came up with a spreadsheet to chart my play. Feel free to check it out and tell me how bad I am. Poker Chart

In addition to $10NL I've been playing $5-$10 HU SNG and having some success lately. Last night I played a 4 man HU SNG and won a $24 token which I hope to use to qualify for the $565 tournament on Full Tilt in which they guarantee 100 seats to the WSOP ME.

Hopefully I'll blog more often :)
